The F-22 Raptor is an excellent fighter jet but there are some limitations. One of the most important is the cost. Due to funding and testing difficulties, production has been delayed. Another problem is the Raptor’s fuel consumption. The Raptor burns approximately 10 gallons of fuel each minute. This is very expensive. As a result, the Raptor is not capable of refueling from an aircraft carrier.

Despite these problems, the Raptor is a very capable aircraft. The Collier Trophy 2006 has been presented to the Raptor. It is expected to become the world's first supersonic fighter if it continues its performance.
