
Point Mugu Sea Range, located off the coast of southern California, is the Navy's center of electronic warfare expertise. San Nicolas Island lies within the 36,000 sq. miles of instrumented ocean and air space. This area allows operational testing and evaluations of guided missiles, freefall weapons, and electronic warfare system.

The Point Mugu Sea Range is managed by the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division. It is also the Department of the Navy’s center of electronic warfare expertise. It provides logistical and in-service support for guided rockets, freefall weapons and targets.
NAWCWD manages more than 1.1million acres of land ranges, multiple weapons development labs at Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake (150 miles north of Los Angeles). It also maintains a 36,000-square-mile sea test range at Point Mugu and a large test range on the West Coast at San Nicolas Island, both located off the coast of southern California.
NAS Point Mugu and the nearby Naval Construction Battalion Center Port Hueneme were combined administratively in 2000 to form Naval Base Ventura County. It is home to the Pacific Seabees and West Coast E-2D Hawkeyes as well as eight tenants.

Check out the pt. mugu airshow 2021 and take in all that this wonderful area has to give! The Air Show is an excellent way to see Navy's top demonstration teams and Thunderbirds.
A lot of the entertainment at a pt mugu air show is free, but you may want to bring your own snacks or drinks. There are food trucks and other eateries all over the base. You might also like to visit the nearby wine bars and beer stores that are open after-hours.

Be sure to bring water and sunscreen, no matter if you're visiting the base or attending an air show at pt Mugu. You will be spending a lot time out in the sun so make sure you're protected.
Don't forget to pack your binoculars for a bird's eye view of the aerial acrobatics of the Air Show performers. Your binoculars can be used to view the beautiful coastline and hiking trails just outside the base.
