Scott Joplin
Scott Joplin is well-known for his piano Rag "Maple Leaf Rag". The rag was printed in St. Louis and Sedalia, Missouri, and became the first piano rag to sell a million copies. While the exact timing of this success is unclear, it was a major milestone in the musical career of the composer. The cover of the rag featured vaudeville stars and was based upon a tobacco advert sketch. The Maple Leaf cover was adopted in the early 1900s. However, the dedication was not overdue as the lower left-hand side of the rag featured Joplin's picture.
Chuck Berry
Chuck Berry is a celebrated singer and songwriter. His music combines narrative country, folk traditions, and jump jazz. He was a Billboard chart-topper in the 1950s, and reached the cover of "Biggest Show of Stars” in 1957.
Miles Davis
Miles Davis at Indeed St Louis, a memoir, explores the life of the great jazz trumpeter. Although it offers few details about Davis's musical thinking, it is rich in stories and anecdotes that tell the story of other musicians. The story of Bud Powell, the genius pianist, is told by the trumpeter. It also tells of Davis's heroin addiction in the early 1950s and his five-year seclusion.
Scott Joplin's ragtime
Scott Joplin is closely tied to the promotion and creation of ragtime musical instruments. His Missouri Department of Natural Resources was given his home as a National Historic Landmark in 1976. It is now the state's first state historic site dedicated to African American heritage. The ragtime museum is full of exhibits that show the history of the area and its surrounding neighborhood. Visitors can also hear ragtime piano rolls on a working player piano. The home features gas lights, calcimine paint and is decorated in Joplin's style.

Scott Joplin, a legend of American jazz music, is Scott Joplin. Some of his most popular jazz rags include "The Entertainer", written in 1903. Joplin's fluid, poetic genius was evident in The Entertainer. This style was very challenging for piano players of the day. Joplin is also remembered for his rags. These gentle songs were named after flowers. The "Chrysanthemum Rag," and the "Rose Leaf Rag" were two of his finest rags.
