China Air Show 2021

China hosts an Airshow every two year. This show allows the country to showcase new military technologies. This show is so important, that it has attracted more than 740 businesses from 43 different countries. It's a platform that encourages international collaboration and has created an open market for business.

The air show will feature a number of military aircraft, including a fifth-generation stealth fighter jet and a tanker. Unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) are also featured. You can also see Cold War-era missile defense systems and ground weapons. Some devices can even leave the atmosphere, such as the XQ58 drone which flew last year for the first time.

The Xian H-6K H-6K Bomber is another interesting new aircraft. It boasts a wider range and higher accuracy than the predecessors. This aircraft is one of the earliest to be equipped with an aeroballistic missile.

China's domestic aerospace industry has seen great strides in recent years, and this includes the development of large aircraft and helicopters. The Aviation Industry Corporation of China has made significant investments in research and development. CASC has been developing the AG600M, which will be used as an emergency rescue and firefighting plane for the Chinese military. The public was shown the water-dropping function at the Airshow.

The airshow featured several Chinese military aircraft including the Chengdu J-20 fifthgeneration fighter plane and Z-20 utility helicopter. China North Industries Group Corporation Limited is the manufacturer of both these aircraft. It is a state-owned enterprise at national level that produces aircraft and other military hardware.


China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, (CASC), showcased several military drone projects. CASC has collaborated with foreign companies, and the air show will witness a variety agreements signed, such as a letter in intent for strategic cooperation.

China is the world's fourth-largest arms exporter. It wants to sell drones and warplanes worldwide. China will display its latest weapon systems, including a YU-20 air tanker and Wing Loong 3 striker drone. The airshow was a success with more than 740 businesses participating.

Caihong-7, also known as Rainbow 7, is a stealth unmanned combat helicopter of the new generation. Also on display is the YY-20 aerial tanker, which was designed to be operated by Chinese soldiers.

Finally, the CH-817 miniature-attack drone weighs in at 800g and is unmanned. Designed for use by troops, it features high speeds and a long flight duration. Although it is not intended for combat, the CH-817 might one day be able to accompany the Chinese J-20 fighter into combat.

The China Air Show is a remarkable demonstration of China's determination to expand its aerospace industry and regain its global place. The airshow not only showcases new military technologies but also serves as a major source for global attention and is a showcase of a booming economy.
